The Baby Shower Games

Blind Diapering
You will need a baby doll, 1 cloth diaper, 2 diaper pins, blind fold, stopwatch.

Guests take turns putting a diaper on the baby doll while blind folded. The guest with the fastest and best diapering job wins a prize.

Clothes Pins Legs Crossed
As all the guest arrive give them four clothes pins and have them placed on their shirt. Also tell them that they can cross their legs, but, if they do then who ever catches you crossing your legs gets one of your clothes pins. At the end, who ever has the most clothes pins on her shirt wins!

Celebrity Babies
Each guest is given a list of celebrity moms on the left, and a list of names on the right. Match the celebrity mom to the name of her baby/child. Ex: Madonna would by matched to Lourdes, using only the first or first and middle names, etc. Whomever matches the most correctly wins. Names of celebrity's children may be found online via different articles on many websites.

Bloomers
This game is similar to musical chairs and hot potato, but you pass around a clothing gift box wrapped several times. Tell the players that there are a pair of bloomers inside the box. Whoever has the box in the end has to wear the bloomers.

The box is passed around (quickly) while the music is playing. When the music stops, the person holding the box takes off a layer of wrapping paper. When you are down to no layers, pass the box around one more time till the music stops. The person stuck with the box, opens it and has to wear the bloomers for the rest of the party.

The surprise is that the bloomers are two flowers stuck together on a safety pin (like a corsage).

Decorative Crafts

Diaper Cake

40 small diapers
2 receiving blankets or baby towels
1 burp rag
1 baby bottle or cardboard paper towel roll
scotch tape or rubber bands
3 diaper pins 1 cardboard cake plate
various baby items to decorate (mini soap and shampoo bottles, baby hair brushes, teething rings, ect)
1 roll colored curling ribbon
1 cake topper (ie: small stuffed animal or beanie toy)

Start by rolling the diapers lengthwise around the baby bottle, and continue to roll the diapers around themselves until you have used 20 diapers for the first layer of the diaper cake. Use scotch tape to secure the diapers together, or use rubber bands if you prefer.
Do the same to make the second layer of the diaper cake, only this time make it a bit smaller by only using 10-15 diapers. The third, top, layer should be only about 5 diapers round.

Fold a receiving blanket to match the width of the bottom diaper cake layer and wrap around. Secure the back with a diaper pin. Do the same for the second layer. For the third, smallest layer, use a burp cloth to wrap around the cake layer and secure with a diaper pin.

Tie curling ribbon in whatever colors you choose around each of the 3 layers of the diaper cake, tie leaving enough extra ribbon at the ends to curl. Take the baby items and tuck them in the ribbon to decorate.

Top your cake off with a small stuffed animal or beanie toy, or something of similar proportion that matches your cake.

Baby Sock Roses

1 package of multi-colored newborn socks (thin)
Florist tape
Florist wire
Artificial leaves

Baby Sock Roses are very simple to make. Start out by placing a thin baby sock flat on a surface, toe pointing towards you. Roll, starting at the toe, until you reach the heel of the sock to form the rose. Take the hole (where the baby's foot goes) and flip it down around the sock (hold the sock in place so it doesn't unravel). Take a bit of wire and poke it horizontally through the bottom of the sock and twist at the ends to keep the sock rose from unrolling. Take a longer piece of wire, to be the stem of the rose (measure to make sure it is long enough if you want to place in a vase, or short enough if you plan to use them for a diaper cake or corsage), and use the florist tape to tape it to the bottom of the "rose". Tape on artificial leaves if desired.

Diaper Wreath

1 wreath base - straw or styrofoam
1 package newborn size diapers
1 pack of dental floss
curling ribbon
Small Baby Items (to decorate)

Tie dental floss completely around the wreath in a circular fashion. Do not cut until the wreath is finished. Place one prefolded diaper (straight from package) against the wreath, cinch it in the middle and wrap the floss cinched area. Next, wrap the floss around the wreath to tie the diaper on. The diaper should now have the top (where the fasteners are) area pointed toward the center of the wreath, and the bottom facing outward. Place another diaper, closely together, facing the opposite direction (bottom inward, top outward) on the wreath. Continue in this manner til the front of the wreath is covered. Tie off floss and cut.

Decorate wreath using curling ribbon, and by tucking the small baby items into the floss and ribbon.
