Mommy Time
A mother’s busy schedule does
not always allow enough time for herself. Just
as we schedule time to take the kids to daycare,
school, children’s activities, and Doctors
appointments it’s important to schedule
time for ourselves. Not only is this necessary
for our health and wellbeing, it is also important
for the quality care that you are providing your
children.
If we are not looking after ourselves
then it will reflect on our mood and temperament.
In other words our children pay for it, with our
lack of patience, attention, frustration and short
tempers.
If practiced regularly, it doesn’t
take much time to benefit from these simple pleasures.
Indulge in yourself.
Tips:
-
Wake up 30 minutes to
an hour earlier then you usually do. Use this Mommy
time to do some morning stretching, exercises &
read an inspirational book.
-
Take two 10 - 15 minute
breaks in the day to enjoy a nice calming cup of
tea.
-
Siesta time is key to
rejuvenation. Take the opportunity to nap when your
child naps. A 15 minute nap can make a big difference,
your chores can wait.
-
After the children have
gone to bed, take a nice soothing bath. Don’t
forget to use your favourite bath salts, light the
candles, and play some nice relaxing music.
-
Schedule some “Me
time”, when you can do the things that you
love to do or always wanted to try. How about a
massage, reflexology treatment, facial, or a day
at the spa. Find a place where you will have no
interruptions and read a book, go for a walk, take
a course that interests you, or get together with
some friends.
The meaning of Pamper is “to
treat with extreme or excessive care and attention”.
Remember it’s just as important to care
for ourselves as we do our loved ones. To love
oneself is important in achieving true happiness
& harmony with others.
